This tutorial includes how to customize the Notification Area- show/hide icons in notification area or system tray.
This will be helpful for the users who disturbs from the notifications displayed time to time, especially for new users i.e. updates available notifications,files are ready to burn,antivirus pop-ups etc.

What is Notification Area or System Tray?
The area in the rightmost part of the taskbar containing some icons displaying there i.e. Network connections, volume,graphics etc , by default is the Notification Area.
System Tray is referred as Notification area, although , it is a tool that contains program`s icons which are in process or provides current status of the programs.
How to Customize Notification Area :
- Click on the upper arrow ( ^ ) in notification area >> Customize...
OR
- Start >> Control panel >> Appearance and Personalization >> customize icons on the taskbar under taskbar and start menu column
- A list of all programs appears in new window, choose the program`s icon to show/hide and select one of the options under Behavior :
Show icon and notifications : The icon always remains visible on the taskbar in the
notification area and notifications are displayed.
Hide icon and notifications : Neither the icon nor the notifications will be displayed
in notification area.
Only show notifications : The icon will be hidden,only notifications will be displayed
on the taskbar, if available.
- After Selecting one of these , Click Ok.

That`s it.
To Remove any Icon from the Notification Area :
When you uninstall any program,the icon in notification area automatically removed,if present.
But If you want to remove only icon from the system tray,
- Right Click on the Icon >> Remove Icon/Exit/Exit tray/Quit.
Choose the options similar to these.
Note : If you are not able to completely remove that icon, it will be better to
choose Hide icons and notifications.
