This article describes most easiest and effective way to access any File or Folder with " Folder is not Accessible, Access is Denied " Error.
Most of the users may have faced this problem, although i didn`t yet.
Recently, My best friend faced the same problem and he asked me to solve that error.That was very simple for me as i have already solved a " Hard-disk partition is not accessible, Access is denied " error.
So, I told him some simple steps as i gonna describe them below in this article and the problem was solved within 2-3 minutes.It results this post online on his suggestion to post it.....so here it is :
Run your computer as Administrator and Follow the steps described below carefully :
In Windows XP :
- Open My Computer >> Tools >> Folder Options
- View tab >> Scrolls down and Uncheck Use Simple File Sharing
- Click on Apply and Ok.
- Now, Right Click on that File/Folder >> Properties >> Security
- Click on Advanced >> Owner >> Select the owner Administrator and Check on Replace owner of subcontainers and folders
- Click on Apply and Ok.
That`s it.
In Windows 7 :
- Open Computer >> Organise >> Folder and search options
- Click on View tab >> Scrolls down and uncheck Use Sharing Wizard
- Click on Apply and Ok.
- Now, Right Click on that file/folder >> Properties >> Security
- Click on Advanced >> Owner >> Edit >> Select Administrator and Check Replace owner of subcontainers and folders
- Click on Apply and Ok.

Now Open your file/folder.....you have access to its contents.
