This article will guide you how to set up a Wi-Fi connection in windows 7 or 8 in your computer step by step:
=>> Your Institution or Organisation has provided you : Proxy Address, IP Address , Subnet mask , Username and Password which means that facility is only available for registered members with them.
Note : When you connect your system with wifi , it asks for Security key which
you can get from your institution or organisation.

IP Address Settings in Windows :
- Go to Start >> Control Panel >> Network and Internet >> Network and Sharing Centre
- Right Click on Network Connection Icon In Notification bar >> Open Network and Sharing Centre
- A new window opens,In Left Pane , Open Change Adapter Settings
- Right Click on Wireless Network Connection >> Properties
- Double Click on Internet Protocol version 4 ( TCP/IPv4 )
- Under IP Address Details : Enter IP Address and Subnet mask provided to you
- Click Ok and Close.
Proxy Settings in Different Internet Browsers :
- In Internet Explore : Open IE >> Tools >> Internet Options >> Connections >> LAN Settings >> Tick Proxy Server and Enter Proxy and Port >> Ok and Close.
- In Google Chrome : Open Chrome >> Click on Settings Icon on right >> Choose Settings >> Click on Advanced settings >> Change Proxy settings under Network >> LAN Settings >> Tick Proxy Server and Enter Proxy and Port >> Ok and Close.
- In Mozilla Firefox : Open Firefox >> Click on icon on left side near Title Name >> Tools >> Options >> Advanced >> Networks >> Settings >> Manual Proxy configuration >> HTTP Proxy>> Enter Proxy and port , Tick use this proxy for all ,Ok and close.
Now, Open Your Browser, If you have made all settings correctly ,it will ask for Username and password, Enter and Start Surfing.
If you want to use wi-fi in Wi-fi Enabled Public Area , Just left blank IP Address and proxy address Column.Connect and Surf.
