How to Set up Proxy Settings in IDM

Internet Download Manager (IDM) is a tool used to download files like data, audio, videos etc from Internet with a high speed with the resume and schedule capabilities. It is widely used Download manager due to its reliable features.

Using any broadband or dial-up connection, we don`t need to set up proxy settings to use IDM but for using Proxy servers or Wi-Fi connection, User has to Set up Proxy Settings in IDM for downloading data.

Sometimes, You also have faced some errors if you scheduled any download in IDM using proxy or Wi-Fi without setting up the proxy address in IDM.

So, Here`s the simple way to make proxy settings in IDM :



I am assuming that you have already configured wi-fi Settings in your Computer. If not, Learn here How to Set up wi-fi Settings in Windows first.

Set up Proxy Settings in IDM :

• Open IDM  i.e. Internet Download Manager

• Click on Options >> Proxy/Socks

• Tick Use Proxy

• Fill the Columns with Proxy Address , Port ,Username and Password which you got.

• Tick http or all the three i.e. http , https , ftp.

• That`s it. Click Ok and Close.

If you are using Open Public Wi-fi facility , You have no need to do Proxy Settings.
