How to Install Windows XP : Step by Step Guide

Here`s all about How to Install Windows XP step by step :

Before Starting Installation , Make sure that You have :
-Windows XP CD
-Product Key
-All necessary Hardwares are connected properly i.e. Harddisk,CD/DVD Drive, RAM,Monitor/LCD,Keyboard,mouse etc.

Let`s Start ....




1. Insert the Windows XP CD in Drive on startup or Restart the computer after inserting the Setup Disc

2.Then, It asks Press any key to boot from the CD.... Press any Key.

Note : If you are not asked to press a key to start (or "boot") from CD or DVD, 
          Then you need to set the CD or DVD drive to be the first boot device in the    
          BIOS Settings on the start up of computer.Keep in mind that Different 
          BIOS Manufacturers have different shortcut keys for BIOS Menu. 
          F2 ,F10 ,F12 and Delete ( shown at the startup of windows ) are most  
          common.

3. Windows XP setup Begins,On the Welcome Page, Press Enter to continue .

4. On the Windows XP Licensing Agreement Page , Press F8.

5. Now Select a Harddisk partition where you want to install windows XP.


Note : If you want to format whole harddisk and want to make new partitions with 
          different sizes.

6. On the next window, Select Format the partition by using the NTFS file system (Quick), to format quickly or you can choose other according to your wish.

7. After Formatting of drive completed, then Copying of setup files starts. It takes some time to complete.

8. After completion of copying Files....Computer Restarts.

You may eject your Setup Disc when the computer restarts and Insert it again when Next Phase of setup loads...

Windows Installation Process continues....

9. Setup continues...After some time, The Regional and Language Options window appears....(Change your language and region if you want ) . Click Next.

10. On Next Page; Enter Your Name and Organisation name. Click next.

11. On Product key Page; Enter Product keys to continue the setup and then Press  Enter.

12. On the Computer Name and Administrator password Page; Choose a Name for your computer and Enter password of your wish( whenever windows will start,it asks for password everytime,keep password secure ) or you can leave this blank and then Click next or Press Enter.

13. On Time and Date Settings Page; Set time and Choose your time zone & Set Date. Click Next.

14. Now, Setup Continues... and takes some time to complete about 20-30 minutes.

Note : If you got fatal error or blue screen error or other , Click Here.

15. Computer automatically restarts when Installation process finished.

Now, You can Eject Windows XP CD from the CD/DVD ROM Drive or can Continue to follow some easy configuration steps.
You have almost Done.

Next, You have need to install drivers i.e. Graphics,sound,video,USB,LAN etc. For that, Insert Motherboard Drivers CD which you got with your computer.
You can install them manually by Opening individual folders of sound , video etc.
                                           OR
Open Device Manager and Double click on Drivers with yellow mark  and choose update driver.

• Right Click on My Computer >> Manage >> Device Manager ( in left Pane of window )

Note : Make sure that compatible Motherboard Drivers CD is inserted into the Drive.
