Today, Computers can be seen at your Home, Schools or Colleges, Universities, Companies, Hospitals , Security Stations etc. We can say, Computers have become our basic need.
But How did we get this wonderful machine, we call COMPUTER ? Who invented Computer? How the Computer Inventions started ?
Answers are not as simple. Computer was not invented by one single man. Many Inventors contributed by their major inventions in the history of computers.
The word "computer" was first recorded as being used in 1613 and was originally used to describe a human who performed calculations or computations.
Here is the overview for some major inventions in the Computer History :
Have a look on Generations of Computer :
1. First Generation : 1946-1959 based on Vacuum tubes.
2. Second Generation : 1959-1965 based on Transistors.
3. Third Generation : 1965-1971 based on Integrated Circuits.
4. Fourth Generation : 1971-1980 based on VLSI microprocessor.
5. Fifth Generation : 1980-onwards based on ULSI microprocessor.
